Zusammenfassung

Die Autorin untersucht die Werteorientierung der EU-Handelspolitik am Beispiel von menschen- und umweltrechtlichen Verpflichtungen in EU-Handelsabkommen. Die Arbeit bietet neben einer umfassenden Übersicht über die vertraglichen Bestimmungen zu Nachhaltigkeit und Menschenrechten einen innovativen Überprüfungsansatz zur Umsetzung völkerrechtlicher Verpflichtungen anhand Bewertungskriterien maßgeblicher internationaler Organisationen und Rahmenabkommen. Als Fallbeispiel dient die Umsetzungspraxis einschlägiger Vorschriften durch Kolumbien und Peru in ausgewählten Rechtsbereichen des EU-Andenstaaten-Handelsabkommens.
