Zusammenfassung

Diskriminierung soll mit Recht bekämpft werden – seit Erlass des Allgemeinen Gleichbehandlungsgesetzes im Jahr 2006 mehr denn je. Staatliche Agenturen und zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen kämpfen darum, den Schutz vor Diskriminierung zu vervollständigen. Doch wie können sie die Wirkungen des Rechts einschätzen und Rechtslücken finden? Wie erwecken sie mit ihren Interventionen das AGG zum Leben? Die vorliegende Studie schaut in ethnographischer Perspektive auf Prozesse der Rechtsmobilisierung rund um das AGG und das Neutralitätsgesetz. Sie verfolgt die Frage, welche moralischen Werte und gesellschaftlichen Entwürfe handlungsleitend werden, wenn Recht zum Instrument gegen Diskriminierung gemacht wird.
