Zusammenfassung

25 Jahre nachdem das Projekt eines Friedensjournalismus auf den Weg gebracht wurde, unternimmt der Autor eine Bestandsaufnahme dessen, was seither an theoretischer, empirischer und experimenteller Forschung und Entwicklung geleistet wurde, und wie sich der Friedensjournalismus selbst dabei weiterentwickelt hat: von einer Alternative zur Propagandaträchtigkeit herkömmlicher Kriegsberichterstattung hin zu einem Modell der konstruktiven Berichterstattung über zwischen- und innergesellschaftliche Konflikte jeglichen Eskalationsgrades bis hin zu alltäglichen Interessenkonflikten, wie sie auch aus einer demokratischen Gesellschaft nicht wegzudenken sind, und über Verhandlungen zum Zwecke einer konstruktiven Streitbeilegung.
