Summary
This thesis aims to shed light on the ECtHR’s fact-assessment procedures, and it suggests that principles of scientific method can be applied to analyse and critique the ECtHR’s practice in this regard. The contribution of this doctoral thesis is that it provides an analytical framework of reflection to detect flaws in the ECtHR’s factual analyses, thus offering a new scientific perspective on the ECtHR’s case law.
