Summary

Leonie Mareen Göcke takes on a controversial topic: What do professional carers think about studying nursing at university? In the face of changing health care needs, nursing studies are becoming increasingly important and are already well established in some countries. However, the subject remains controversial, particularly within the nursing profession. As part of a scoping review, the author presents a differentiated analysis of the attitudes of professional nurses 'without', 'during' and 'after' a nursing degree. The findings underline the value of nursing education, which needs to be transparently communicated to policy makers, society and the nursing profession.
