Zusammenfassung
Der Band beschäftigt sich mit der Industrialisierung Indiens. Er gliedert sich in 10 Kapitel, die sich jeweils einem konkreten Zeitraum widmen, wie der Beginn der Industrialisierung im 19. Jahrhundert, die Auswirkungen des Ersten Weltkriegs etc. Beleuchtet wird vor allem die politische Atmosphäre. Für jeden Zeitraum werden alle relevanten Branchen diskutiert. Abschließend wird auf aktuelle Entwicklungen und neue Industriezweige eingegangen.
