Zusammenfassung
Afghanistan steht seit 1979 im Fokus internationaler Interessen, doch seine lange parteipolitische Tradition wurde bislang kaum beachtet. Dieses Buch bietet einen Überblick über Afghanistans Parteien von 1964 bis 2021, die vor dem Hintergrund ausländischer Invasionen, Bürgerkriege und eines unabgeschlossenen Staatsbildungsprozesses um die politische Macht kämpften. Es liefert einen Beitrag zu den sozialwissenschaftlichen Forschungen über Parteipolitik, bewaffnete Gruppen, Demokratisierung und Entwicklung. Wahid Watanyar promovierte in Politikwissenschaften an der Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind bewaffnete Gruppen und Konflikte, Parteien, Demokratisierung und die Politik Südasiens.
