Zusammenfassung

Seit Jahrzehnten arbeitet die internationale Diplomatie, im Ergebnis, vergeblich an der Einhegung des iranischen Nuklear- und Raketenprogramms. Israel dagegen setzt auf eine Haltung der Stärke und Handlungsfreiheit.

Die Analyse durch die Linse der Prospect Theory legt nahe, dass sich israelische Führungspersönlichkeiten eher für einen Präventivschlag zur Abwendung eines atomar bewaffneten Iran entscheiden könnten, als rein rational basierte Theorien intendieren. Die Einbeziehung psychologischer Argumente soll somit zu einer Sensibilisierung für das israelische Dilemma zwischen militärischer Intervention und nuklearem Iran beitragen. Das Buch unterstreicht daher die Instabilität der aktuellen Situation ohne ein internationales Atomabkommen.
