Dieses Buch vereint Perspektiven aus der Philosophie und den Neurowissenschaften zur Kognition in der antiken griechischen Philosophie und ihrer Rezeption. Es liefert zunächst eine nützliche Einführung in verschiedene Aspekte der Kognition in der altgriechischen Philosophie zu verschiedenen Zeiten ihrer Geschichte, sowohl aus der Perspektive der Philosophie als auch der Neurowissenschaften. Nach einer ausführlichen Darstellung interdisziplinärer Ansätze zu wichtigen Aspekten der Kognition in der frühen und klassischen griechischen Philosophie konzentriert sich das Buch auf Fragen der Kognition in der Spätantike und im Neuplatonismus.
