Zusammenfassung

Der Europäische Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte hat unterstrichen, dass die Religions- und Weltanschauungsfreiheit eine der Grundlagen einer demokratischen Gesellschaft ist. Sie ist ernsthaft gefährdet, wenn Kirchen, Tempel, Klöster und andere religiöse Einrichtungen im Besitz von Religionsgemeinschaften willkürlich vom Staat enteignet werden.

Die vorliegende Studie analysiert das Gesetz über die Religions- und Glaubensfreiheit und den Rechtsstatus religiöser Gemeinschaften von Montenegro aus dem Jahr 2019 im Hinblick auf internationale Menschenrechtsinstrumente und im Lichte des möglichen Beitritts Montenegros zur Europäischen Union.
