Summary

Am Europa-Institut der Universität des Saarlandes fand anlässlich des 75. Geburtstages von Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Georg Ress, dem langjährigen Direktor des Europa-Instituts und ehemaligen deutschen Richter am Europäischen Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte in Straßburg, im Januar 2010 ein wissenschaftliches Festkolloquium statt. Die im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung gehaltenen englischsprachigen Vorträge von Weggefährten, Kollegen und Freunden des Jubilars befassen sich mit aktuellen und grundlegenden Fragestellungen zum Schutz der Menschenrechte allgemein und durch den Europäischen Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte am Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts. Dieser Band ist damit eine interessante und empfehlenswerte Lektüre für alle diejenigen, die sich mit aktuellen Fragen des Menschenrechtsschutzes beschäftigen.
