Summary

Triggered by international wars and crises, the number of unaccompanied refugee minors in Germany is once again on the rise. Teresa Brand analyses the problems and needs of young refugees in the light of current scientific discourse. She also considers the legal framework of child and youth welfare and the latest findings in developmental psychology. Following her interdisciplinary analysis, the author derives requirements for assessment in the context of case management and formulates specific instructions for working with unaccompanied refugee minors.
