Summary
Sustainable construction is not a sure-fire success. This volume brings together practical, administrative, and scientific perspectives and shows how integrated project management (IPM) enables ecological goals, digital capabilities, and reliable collaboration. To this end, it first clarifies the problems that IPM solves: fragmentation, friction losses, and conflicting goals. The focus is on fair risk/opportunity sharing, target cost control, BIM-supported collaboration, and life cycle-wide data use. Finally, the volume discusses the possibilities and limits of transferability to other areas, as well as the prerequisites for measurable, legally secure results in terms of procurement, regulation, roles, and culture.
