Summary

Sensitive data, including health data and data revealing political opinions, are afforded special protection under the GDPR. Yet the scope of this special protection raises a number of questions: How can sensitive and non-sensitive data be effectively distinguished? What happens to data that give rise to a high level of protection but are not expressly listed in Article 9 GDPR? And what impact do new risks arising from Big Data and AI have on the protection of sensitive data? This book addresses these issues and develops possible solutions based on the risk-based approach.
