Summary
This volume offers a contemplative exploration of Martin Heidegger’s thought, drawing on his recently published ‘Black Notebooks’, which can be seen as explanations and commentaries on his published works. By doing so, the author is following advice that Heidegger gave to a ‘young student’ almost exactly 75 years ago: to embark on a journey of critically engaging with the concept of ‘being’. No extensive knowledge of the state of research is necessary. All that is required is an openness to this way of thinking to realise that it encourages us to abandon traditional metaphysical thinking.
