Summary

Die wachsende Nutzung von Digitaltechnologien führt zu einer Konvergenz von Kommunikation und damit zu einer Beseitigung der traditionellen Trennung von Telekommunikation, Rundfunk und Informationstechnologiesektoren.

Dieses Konvergenzphänomen hat zum einen großen Einfluss auf Technologien, Märkte und Nutzungsverhalten von Verbrauchern im Hinblick auf Kommunikationsanwendungen, aber auf der anderen Seite zwingt es die Regulierung von Kommunikation, sich dieser Kommunikationswirklichkeit anzupassen.

Der Band analysiert die Auswirkungen von Konzentration auf den Regulierungsprozess von Kommunikation unter Berücksichtigung von Markterschließungsregelungen. Anhand einer vergleichenden Untersuchung der Regulierungskonzepte in Deutschland und Großbritannien in Bezug auf europäisches Recht zeigt die Studie auf, welchen Einfluss verschiedene Regierungssysteme auf die Umsetzung regulierender Reformen haben.

Dem Werk liegt eine Untersuchung zahlreicher Quellen zugrunde und es dient als anschaulicher Überblick über die Entwicklung von Konzentrationsprozessen in der Kommunikation im Allgemeinen und die Folgen für Markterschließungsregelungen im Speziellen.
