Summary
Die wiederholten Gaskrisen zwischen Russland und der Ukraine haben auf europäischer Ebene in den letzten Jahren zu einem erheblichen Bedeutungszuwachs von Fragen der Energiesicherheit geführt. Das Buch untersucht vor diesem Hintergrund die geopolitische Vision der EU-Außenenergiepolitik am Beispiel des Südlichen Gaskorridors. Basierend auf den theoretischen Annahmen der Kritischen Geopolitik analysiert die Autorin den Diskurs der Europäischen Kommission im Zuge der Gaskrisen und geht der Frage nach, inwiefern geopolitische Narrative die europäische Energiesicherheitspolitik tatsächlich beeinflussen. Sie beobachtet dabei, wie die Diversifizierung von Gaslieferungen über den Südlichen Gaskorridor zu dem zentralen Narrativ der EU-Kommission wird, um letztlich die Abhängigkeit von russischem Gas zu reduzieren und Energiesicherheit für Europa zu gewährleisten.
