Zusammenfassung

Der Band ist dem Feld der Friedensmediation gewidmet, das sich international und in Deutschland rasant entfaltet, profiliert und professionalisiert hat. In der Zusammenführung von Entstehung, Status Quo und Entwicklungsperspektiven des Feldes weist der Band drei Besonderheiten auf: Er vereint den kritisch wissenschaftlichen und praktisch kontextualisierenden Blick auf tatsächliche politische Entwicklungen. Er bietet eine Auswahl der „Fact Sheets Friedensmediation“, die im Zusammenwirken zwischen dem Auswärtigen Amt und der Initiative Mediation Support Deutschland (IMSD) erarbeitet wurden. Und er gibt konkrete Anstöße, wie Deutschlands Profil und praktische Vermittlungsmethodik in der Friedensmediation weiter geschärft und in die reale politische Praxis übersetzt werden können.
