In “The Metamorphosis”, Kafka illustrates the aporias of modernity in which the Samsa family is entangled. In the family world and in the world of work, as in other subsystems, a deeply hidden law prevails. It hides its own history, behaves like a god and enslaves everything that resists it. What does not obey and function learns to know and feel the mechanisms of its power. Those who seek a free existence and a self-determined life beyond the machine of modernity become involved in a game of disciplining and alienation, distortion and death.
