Summary
Der Sammelband beschäftigt sich mit dem Zusammenhang von aktueller Politik, Governance und Rechtmäßigkeit. In den vergangenen Jahrzehnten hat der Globalisierungsprozess die Grenzen der Nationalstaaten durchdrungen. Zusätzlich zu den traditionellen politischen Akteuren wie z.B. Regierungen, Parlamente und Parteien haben Bürgergesellschaften, wirtschaftliche, nationale und transnationale NGOs sowie andere Organisationen an Einfluss gewonnen. Maßgebliche Mitbestimmung im formalen Kontext von hierarchischen Governancestrukturen wird zunehmend durch „Governance“ ersetzt – so entstehen komplexe Koordinations- und Verhandlungsprozesse innerhalb plurizentrischer Netzwerkstrukturen. Folglich sind traditionelle Formen der Legitimierung von politischen Einrichtungen, Politikern und Politiken in Gefahr. Die Kapitel des Sammelbandes beschreiben unterschiedliche Regionen, nutzen verschiedene Theorien und verwenden zahlreiche Methoden und behandeln die Aspekte, die internationale, nationale und subnationale Politiken verändert haben.
