Art from the GDR has virtually disappeared from the contemporary image space. »Ghost image« explores the place where a large part of this suppressed art history is to be found: the Kunstarchiv (Art Archive) in Beeskow. The artistic archives of the GDR and approach to handing them, as well as their contemporary role, are examined and discussed from this starting point. The focus is on the archive as a site of pictures, which document and comment on a variety of structural changes in the culture.
