Summary

Monographical study of special religious dissidents of the 16th and 17th centuries. Here: on spiritualists. Scholars who deal with the sixteenth century agree that for the Spiritualists the most important of the Christian religion is the direct influence of the Holy Spirit. The spiritualists are not interested in either the word or the sacrament, preaching is unimportant, the whole life is determined only by the Holy Spirit. A purely religious definition, however, neglects the fact that these theologians (Hans Denck, Sebastian Frank and Caspar von Schwenckfeld) also have philosophical roots; they come from Christian humanism. An overview at the border where philosophy, religion and philosophy of religion converge.
