Summary

Das OSZE-Jahrbuch ist die einzige unabhängige wissenschaftliche Buchreihe zur OSZE, ihrer Arbeit und den Themen, mit denen sich die Organisation befasst. Auch das soeben erschienene OSCE Yearbook 2007, die englische Ausgabe des Jahrbuchs, enthält wieder eine breit gefächerte Auswahl anschaulich geschriebener Beiträge von Wissenschaftlern und Diplomaten sowie hochkarätigen Praktikern aus der Organisation selbst.

Am Anfang stehen zwei höchst aktuelle, brisante Themen, mit denen sich die OSZE 2007 konfrontiert sah: Russlands Suspendierung des KSE-Vertrags und die möglichen Folgen des Scheiterns der Verhandlungen über den zukünftigen Status des Kosovo.

Das diesjährige Schwerpunkthema, „Toleranz und Nichtdiskriminierung“, enthält u. a. Beiträge zur Entstehungsgeschichte dieses Arbeitsbereichs in der OSZE, zur Rolle der Religionen im „Dialog der Kulturen“, zum Phänomen des Antisemitismus in den Teilnehmerstaaten, zur Bekämpfung von Intoleranz und Diskriminierung gegenüber Muslimen sowie Artikel zum Beitrag der OSZE zur „Allianz der Zivilisationen“, zur Rolle der Polizei bei der Bekämpfung von Hassverbrechen und zur Arbeit des BDIMR.

Zu den Staaten, die in diesem Jahr ihre Interessen und ihr Engagement in der OSZE vorstellen, gehören Rumänien, Montenegro und Kasachstan. Weitere Beiträge untersuchen die Arbeit der Missionen, Zentren und Büros der Organisation in Kroatien, Turkmenistan und Usbekistan und beschäftigen sich mit der Gesamtstrategie der OSZE für Südosteuropa und Zentralasien.
