Summary

Inwiefern beeinflussten die Beitritte von Slowenien und Österreich zur Europäischen Union die Entwicklung der Soziologie in den beiden Nachbarländern? In vergleichender Perspektive liefert diese Studie profundes empirisches Beweismaterial für die institutionelle Dynamik einer Europäisierung der Sozialwissenschaften. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Sozialwissenschaften neuerdings zwar Beschränkungen unterliegen, sich aber auch neue Möglichkeiten eröffnen. Durch die transnationale Zusammenarbeit von Wissenschaftlern wird neues Wissen geschaffen und eine „europäische Sozialwissenschaft“ entsteht.
