Summary

The volume makes a substantial contribution to the history of radical right-wing thought in Italy in the early 20th century. In particular, it sheds light on the intertwined and reciprocal relationships between Italian imperial and intellectual history. An in-depth examination of the imperial visions of the nationalist right in the Kingdom of Italy shows that its culturally and politically heterogeneous representatives, between 1896 and 1922, did not hold a simple, one-dimensional, and static conception of a Great Italy, but rather imagined a complex, multifaceted, and adaptable imperial formation.
