Diese Dissertation zeigt Faktoren auf, die die Reintegration von Ex-KombattantInnen nach einem Bürgerkrieg beeinflussen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf der sozialen und ökonomischen Wiedereingliederung und wird anhand des Falls des Nachkriegs-Burundi untersucht. Dabei wird nicht nur betrachtet, wie die ehemals Kämpfenden den Reintegrationsprozess und die entsprechenden Programme wahrnehmen, sondern auch die Perspektiven der Zivilbevölkerung, die heute mit den Zurückgekehrten zusammenlebt, werden miteinbezogen. Die vorliegende qualitative Studie gründet sich zur Untersuchung der persönlichen Wahrnehmung des Reintegrationsprozesses auf Daten, die bei einem Feldforschungsaufenthalt 2006 in Burundi gewonnen wurden.
