Zusammenfassung

Der Schutz von Zivilisten ist in den letzten zehn Jahren eine zentrale Rolle in den Mandaten für Friedensmissionen geworden. Der Band gibt einen konzeptionellen Überblick über die wissenschaftliche theoretische Diskussion. Überdies werden die Einsätze der UN u.a. in Süd-Sudan (UNMIS), Darfur (UNAMID), der Demokratischen Republik Kongo (MONUC), und im Tschad (MINURCAT) untersucht.
