Macht in einer globalisierten landwirtschaftlichen Produktion

Zusammenfassung

Mit dem Sojaboom hat sich Argentinien so schnell von der Wirtschaftskrise erholt wie kaum ein anderes Land. Doch wem nutzt der Rohstoffreichtum in einer globalisierten und hoch-technisierten Landwirtschaft wie der argentinischen? Dieser Frage geht die Autorin nach und untersucht mit qualitativen Methoden die Machtbeziehungen in der argentinischen Sojaproduktion und in Konflikten um den Anbau. Grundlage der Analyse bilden Konzepte globaler Produktionsnetzwerke, die durch soziologische Perspektiven auf Macht erweitert werden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Macht in der Produktion zunehmend an global agierende Unternehmen übergeht und legen nahe, dass der Sojaboom ungeeignet ist, um Argentinien langfristig Wohlstand zu bringen.
