Zusammenfassung

Immer häufiger betonen Wahrheitskommissionen die große Bedeutung von Schulen für Konflikttransformation und soziale Erinnerung. Gleichzeitig stellt die Bildungspolitik in der Friedens- und Konfliktforschung ein randständiges Thema dar. Die vergleichende Studie untersucht anhand der Beispiele Guatemala und Peru, wie sich soziale Ungleichheit, bewaffnete Konflikte und Wahrheitskommissionen auf Bildungsreformen und Bildungsinhalte auswirken und wie die Ziele und Grenzen pädagogischer Agency ausgehandelt werden. Das Buch verbindet kritische, bildungssoziologische Ansätze mit Memory Studies und legt ein besonderes Augenmerk auf Fragen der sozialen Ungleichheit. Über die Fallbeispiele hinaus trägt die Untersuchung damit auch zu einer besseren theoretischen Integration von Bildungs- und Konfliktforschung bei.
