Zusammenfassung

Die „Konferenz zur Zukunft Europas“ wurde nach einjähriger Laufzeit im Mai 2022 beendet. Es handelt sich um ein bislang einmaliges Demokratieexperiment auf EU-Ebene, um Bürger:innen in deliberative Beratungen über die Zukunft der europäischen Integration einzubinden. Dieser englischsprachige Sammelband umfasst elf Beiträge, die sich mit dem Prozess und den Ergebnissen dieses innovativen Konsultationsprozesses in verschiedenen EU-Ländern befassen und untersuchen, wie nationale und regionale Akteure ebenso wie EU-Institutionen sich daran beteiligt haben. Viele der Autor:innen aus Politik, Verwaltung und Wissenschaft haben an der Konferenz mitgewirkt.
