Zusammenfassung

Die allesamt englischsprachigen Beiträge bieten einen ersten Einblick in die „Black Box“ der zwischenstaatlichen Aspekte des öffentlichen Dienstes. Die Auswahl der Länder richtet sich nach den Institutionen, die an der Konferenz (International Association of Centers for Federal Studies (IACFS)) teilgenommen haben, und erhebt keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit hinsichtlich aller institutionellen Modelle. Dennoch vertreten sie die Mehrheit der föderalen bzw. dezentralisierten Staaten in Europa (Österreich, Deutschland, Italien, Spanien und die Schweiz), in Nordamerika (USA, Kanada) sowie Australien. Für Asien ist Indien vertreten, und für Afrika Südafrika und Äthiopien.
