Wie geraten Demokratien im 21. Jahrhundert ins Wanken? Dieses Buch untersucht die Prozesse hin zu repressiven Regimen durch einen innovativen, systemisch-kybernetischen Ansatz. Anstatt auf monokausale Erklärungen zu setzen, entwickelt der Autor ein Modell aus neun theoretischen Axiomen – darunter ökonomische, kulturelle, mediale und psychologische Faktoren –, die als zirkuläre Rückkopplungsschleifen die globale Destabilisierung vorantreiben. Die empirische Validierung erfolgt anhand fundierter Fallstudien aus Europa, Amerika, Afrika, Zentralasien und dem Nahen Osten. Das Werk hinterfragt klassische Transitionstheorien kritisch, bietet Wege aus der Krise zur Stärkung der Resilienz und richtet sich an Politik- sowie Sozialwissenschaftler:innen.
