Zusammenfassung
Die Studie bietet am Beispiel der Gesundheitskommunikation eine Basis für das Verständnis von Vertrauen. Sie analysiert Voraussetzungen für Vertrauen in einer digitalen Welt, schildert den Vertrauensprozess und definiert Vertrauen mit Fokus auf die Vertrauenshandlung, sodass es von Konstrukten wie Glaubwürdigkeit abgrenzbar ist.
Die Arbeit diskutiert die Bedeutung von Vertrauen als Übertragung von Handlungsverantwortung an eine Online-Quelle und untersucht, wie die Interessen von Quellen und wissenschaftliche Unsicherheiten Vertrauen beeinflussen. Experimente zeigen, dass Unsicherheiten unter bestimmten Bedingungen positiven Einfluss auf die Vertrauenswürdigkeit von Quellen und Informationen haben. Während eigennützige Interessen der Quelle zu Misstrauen führen, ist die Kompetenz der Quelle die entscheidende Grundlage für Vertrauen. Dieses wird im Online-Kontext zu einer besonderen und seltenen Situation, da viele Rezipienten eigenständig Informationen von mehreren Quellen selektieren.
