Zusammenfassung

Das Buch evaluiert die ambivalente Wirtschaftspolitik Indonesiens, kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen (engl. SMEs) hinsichtlich der Errichtung von Business-Clustern in der Keramik- und Schuhwerkindustrie in Cibaduyut und Plered, West-Java, zu fördern. Ziel ist es, die SMEs innovativer, produktiver und wettbewerbsfähiger zu machen. Dieses Ansinnen wird jedoch durch eine ungenügende Koordinierung zwischen den nationalen, regionalen und lokalen Behörden erschwert. Darüber hinaus muss der Einfluss der javanischen und sundanesischen Kultur im alltäglichen Wirtschaften berücksichtigt werden, um die gesetzten Ziele erreichen zu können.
