Zeitschrift für Didaktik der Rechtswissenschaft
About the Journal
The Zeitschrift für Didaktik der Rechtswissenschaft is a journalistic forum for all aspects of the academic discourse about the teaching and learning of the law and legal studies. It opens and consolidates the perspective of research with regard to teaching and thus contributes new knowledge to the debate about legal studies and university didactics. ZDRW thus forges links between general university didactics, specialized legal didactics and legal studies. Horizons are thus broadened on both sides and different perspectives enabled with regard to teaching and learning the law. This signifies an interdisciplinary approach since in addition to legal studies, other disciplines are called on to contribute their own knowledge on teaching and learning processes. These include general higher education didactics, psychology, neurosciences and educational science, sociology and other specialized higher education didactics able to contribute towards specialized teaching in legal studies. ZDRW addresses all phases and aspects of legal education, providing general assistance for the improvement of both teaching and learning. To this end, apart from academic articles, a practical teaching forum is planned which will present ideas and discussions of detailed concepts for events and courses of study as well as individual didactical methods, thus providing impulses and points of connection for the individual teaching activities of our readers at various levels.

RphZ Rechtsphilosophie
Zeitschrift für Grundlagen des RechtsAt a time when legislation is becoming increasingly hectic in response to individual cases and losing sight of the legal system as a whole, in which its so-called ‘basic subjects’ are often referred to in soapbox speeches but are becoming increasingly marginalised in university education, addressing exactly these fundamental issues is especially important. This is the quintessential task of the philosophy of law, which is just as much a sub-discipline of practical philosophy as it is of jurisprudence. In this sense, the journal ‘Rechtsphilosophie–Zeitschrift für Grundlagen der Rechts’ provides a forum for interdisciplinary exchange on the theoretical, methodological and political foundations of the law.
Four times a year
The RphZ is published quarterly, with each issue containing around 100 pages and mostly dedicated to a special topic.

Z'Flucht. Zeitschrift für Flucht- und Flüchtlingsforschung
German Journal of Forced Migration and Refugee StudiesThe Zeitschrift für Flucht- und Flüchtlingsforschung, German Journal of Forced Migration and Refugee Studies (Z’Flucht) is a peer-reviewed journal which publishes academic works from diverse disciplines on questions related to forced migration and refugee studies. The journal is published twice a year by Nomos publishing house in association with the German Network for Forced Migration Research (Netzwerk Fluchtforschung e.V.) and the editors.
Z’Flucht provides a forum for exchange in the field of forced migration and refugee studies through empirical research, theoretical reflections and methodological discussions. By means of international, regional or national explorations, scholars may address questions related to the conditions, forms and consequences of forced migration and displacement, the protection of refugees and efforts towards durable solutions, such as return, (re)integration or resettlement. Moreover, refugees’ activities and strategies to cope with their experiences may be analysed. The journal includes all categories of people who have been forcibly displaced or who have fled from their homes due to violence, and the debates, discourses, practices, politics and concepts related to them. Since such topics can be explored from diverse perspectives, the journal places special emphasis on interdisciplinary discussions and comprises various disciplines, including law, sociology, history, politics, philosophy, ethnology, psychology, geography and economics, linguistics and literary studies.
As displacement and forced migration not only represent a growing field of research but also a broad political and practical area, this journal aims to promote exchange between academia and practice.
Z’Flucht publishes works in three categories: academic articles, forum articles as well as literature reviews and conference reports.
Academic articles present research findings on specific questions related to forced migration and refugees which are methodically and theoretically reflected on, consider and further the current state of research in this field. These articles undergo a double-blind peer review and are limited to 80,000 characters (including spaces).
Forum articles may include shorter (field) research reports, address theoretical, methodological, conceptual and ethical questions or reflect on current developments and discussions in forced migration and refugee studies. Manuscripts from practitioners are welcome. The editors of the journal review all forum articles, which are limited to 35,000 characters (including spaces).
Literature reviews and conference reports can relate to individual or a number of new publications or conferences from the last two years which address aspects of forced migration and refugee studies. In view of the journal’s interdisciplinary focus, publications or conferences which cover several disciplines are preferred. Individual reviews are limited to 6,000 characters (including spaces), while multiple book reviews or conference reports should be no longer than 20,000 characters (including spaces).
The journal predominantly publishes works in German, but studies written in English and French may also be considered.

RuZ - Recht und Zugang
Zugang zum kulturellen Erbe und WissenschaftskommunikationRuZ - Recht und Zugang addresses all legal issues related to accessing digital collections, whether these may be libraries, museums or archives. The topics are almost unlimited and range from copyright to data protection law to labour law. Practical relevance is crucial : What requirements must be met in order to make digital content publicly accessible? What needs to be considered when collections want to digitize their holdings? Who is responsible for ensuring that the legal requirements are met? After all, it's about communication, because the most beautiful and important collections remain useless, if no one looks at them and nobody talks about them.
Recht und Zugang not only aspires to look at collections in their entirety - from the municipal art library to the world-famous museum, but also to set the scene in which collections acquire their contents and process them in such a way that they are perceived and used. Recht und Zugang aims at the institutions themselves, ie at museums, archives and libraries, but also informs advisors who support collections in fulfilling their tasks. The journal’s aim is also reflected in the editorial board, which consists of experts who work in and for collections and assist those on a daily basis.
Recht und Zugang is currently published with two issues a year and aspires to be as open as possible. The contributions are available in the Nomos eLibrary, published under a CC-BY-SA license.

Morals & Machines
Interdisciplinary, Global, CriticalAbout the Journal
The scientific journal Morals & Machines addresses the question of how algorithms in general and artificial intelligence (AI) especially change society, the economy and the working world, the media, the healthcare system, technology, language, gender relations, and art and culture in a pluralistic manner. It investigates the questions of which ethical risks arise from general and artificial intelligence, what potential they offer and what challenges they pose to legal systems worldwide in relation to technological applications, robotics and the integration of AI. The journal examines these questions from an interdisciplinary, global and critical perspective at the interface between the humanities, social science, law and computer science.
