About the Journal

The European Criminal Law Review is a journal dedicated to the development of European Criminal Law and the cooperation in criminal matters within the European Union. In these areas the Lisbon Treaty has supposedly brought about the most important changes and also the greatest challenges for the future.

It is the journal’s ambition to provide a primary forum for comprehensive discussion and critical analysis of all questions arising in relation to European Criminal Law. It will include articles and relevant material on topics such as

  • the harmonisation of national criminal law in consideration of European legal instruments,
  • the implementation of the principle of mutual recognition in the area of cooperation in criminal matters and the development towards the creation of a European Public Prosecutor,
  • the emergence of a balanced European Criminal Policy based on fundamental rights, freedom and democracy with particular reference to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the European Convention on Human Rights.

‚Forum Stadt‘ is a journal focusing on urban history, urban sociology, heritage conservation and urban development. It was founded in 1973 and was published under the name ‚Die Alte Stadt’ from 1978 to 2010. The association ‚Forum Stadt - Netzwerk historischer Städte e.V.‘, which currently unites around 80 cities, supports the publication of the quarterly journal on current issues of sustainable urban development and urban renewal, with the aim of providing a platform for exchange between local practice and university and non-university research.

  • is a journal for consultants, arbitrators, mediators and coaches who work in and with organisations or in areas of conflict in society.

  • provides a forum for company executives, human resources managers and company lawyers who work in the field of conflict management and want to be up-to-date in terms of its theory and practice.

  • promotes the development of interdisciplinary academic theory and methodology in research and teaching.

The journal is published quarterly—at the end of March, June, September and December.

Konfliktdynamik provides its readers with information under the headings of Theorie und Praxis (Theory and Practice), Impulse aus der Forschung (New Impetus from Research), Aus den Organisationen (News from Organisations), Internationales (International News), Hinter den Kulissen (Behind the Scenes) and Methoden (Methods). Moreover, in the section entitled In Medias Res Juris it offers incisive information on current legal issues related to conflict management, its Kolumne (Column) encourages analysis and reflection, while the Reviews section contains appraisals of important literature, films and radio plays.
