Summary
Energiesicherheit ist heute eine der wichtigsten Herausforderungen Europas. Vor allem seit der Ukraine-Krise werden Rufe nach zusätzlichen Gaslieferungen durch die Türkei laut. In der politischen wie akademischen Debatte wird die Türkei als möglicher, zukünftiger „Hub“ diskutiert. Von Vorteil ist die geographische Lage des Landes: Mehr als 70 Prozent der weltweiten Öl- und Gasreserven befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Türkei kann bei der Verteilung von Öl und Gas eine Schlüsselposition einnehmen. Aber ist sie, selbst fast vollständig abhängig von Energieimporten, in der Lage, zu einem Energieknotenpunkt oder „Hub“ zu werden?
Der Band beleuchtet die Perspektiven der Türkei als möglicher Energieknotenpunkt sowie ihre Rolle für die europäische Energiesicherheit. Neben ökonomischen Entwicklungen, geopolitischen Faktoren und Interessenlagen werden die vorherrschenden Wahrnehmungen in der Türkei und der EU gegenübergestellt.
