Are artists and cultural institutions cultural translators? Which part do concepts such as that of trans-culturality play? The contributions collected in this volume focus on the subject of (trans-)cultural translation and build a bridge between art and the cultural sector, the so-called "cultural turn" being just as relevant as the findings of the latest studies concerning the areas of activity in the cultural sector and management. Besides trans-cultural phenomena in fine arts, music, literature and theater, the authors explore current issues of cultural education at festivals, in museums, theaters, libraries, concert and opera halls. In conclusion, the focus is on processes of cultural exchange and (inter)national cultural managements that also require their players to develop modified thought patterns.
