The volume contains the German reports on the three current topics of the development of European Law as treated at the FIDE-Congress 2016: on the law of the European Banking Union, on the law of private enforcement and collective redress in European competition law and on the division of competences and regulatory powers between the EU and the Member States. They are analyzed on the basis of the respective questionnaire of the General Rapporteur in the light of the German legal order. The reports provide insights in the reorganisation of the banking law through the Single Supervisory and Resolution Mechanism and the Single Rulebook, in the detailed novelties of the law of compensation of damages following an infringement of European cartel law and in the current assessment of the continuous task of balancing competences and regulatory powers in the EU.
