Can art and creativity become a means of revealing contradictions in the city system and develop their own forms of future perspectives? From a perspective encompassing critical geographical urban research, Christine Scherzinger investigates visions of a future urbanity. In case studies focussing in detail on Berlin, she analyses artistic attitudes in a reflexive trans-disciplinary process, and tests the limits of the potential to enact change for performative arts, interventions, and illustrations. The study allows visual spaces and spaces of possibility to emerge that provide momentum for an alternative kind of urban design, putting people back in the centre.
