Summary
This dissertation investigates the use of grid-forming inverter-based resources for the self-re-energization of low-voltage networks without relying on central control units or extensive communication infrastructure, which can introduce single-point vulnerabilities. The work approaches network restoration from an inverter perspective and develops inverter control and dynamic load models to analyze decentralized restoration strategies. Based on these models, a systematic framework for designing and validating re-energization scenarios is established. Rather than identifying a single optimal configuration, the approach aims to ensure robust and feasible restoration across a wide range of operating scenarios.
