How do social actions authorize sense? In the synchronous presence of subjects, the diachronicity of sense in the coordination of, say, speaker and listener, must first be negotiated. What is meaningful occurs in the play of »understanding« – the maintaining of scenic-sensuous presence – and »explaining« of the negotiation of an order of sense. Modern stagings are for this reason less concerned with narratives as with the memorializing of presence. Ralf Bohn represents in particular philosophical positions of hermeneutic time and representations of time, and in doing so, affords particular value to the differentiation between text and image.
