Summary

Circumstances of life can be called hospitable (wirtlich) if they are favourable to both our existence and the preservation of nature. They are conditions of existence in the ecological sense. This study discusses how hospitable conditions can come about socially and economically and be sustainable under the guiding concepts of communal and individual stewardship and care. This is attributed to human actors as a task of design, with the author discussing the function of the ecological host in many different ways. In view of the critical developments in the environment, he or she helps to ensure that social and natural conditions in his or her own circle of life and in global contexts become and remain hospitable.
