Summary

Council Regulation (EC) No. 6/2002 of 12 December 2001 on community design provides a system of uniform protection with a unitary effect for the entire European Union. This regulation prevents identical patterns from being protected differently for the benefit of different owners in several Member States. It also prevents cross-border conflicts in trade between internationally operating companies, merchants and intellectual property holders. This commentary is closely aligned to daily practice and therefore highly relevant for implementation and practical use. It offers a systematic article-by-article commentary of the regulation, as well as a presentation of the implementing legislation in the Member States of the European Union.Benefits at a glance:practicalexpert viewrepresents both European and national law
