The Letters of Chion are perhaps the best surviving example of an epistolary novel in ancient Greek literature. They deal with the assassination of the tyrant Klearchos by Chion of Heracleia Pontica, a student of Plato, in 353/2 B.C. But they also reflect on the relationship between thought and action and between truth and power.
