This book helps in negotiating the – supposedly rigid – boundaries between the fields of art, theory, and activism. The thinking about artistic, theoretical, and activist questioning of power asymmetries along and between social categorizations such as gender, sexual orientation, class, (dis)ability, and perceived ethnicity or religion supports and inspires the fight against inequality and discrimination. The contributions show how the corresponding practices have differentiated in recent years, bringing together different forms of knowledge. They additionally show how these may be harnessed to the benefit of emancipatory movements.
