Summary

The challenge to carry out Communications Studies as critical societal analysis is the thread that connects the contributors to this volume in their critical confrontation with structures and agents of journalistic practice. Through their refusal to reconcile themselves with received perspectives, choosing instead to interrogate supposed certainties, categorizations and dualisms, they makes an alternative perspective on media and the public, journalism, gender or social inequality possible, with the aim of making visible the scope of action between the given and the possible.
