[Successful Imperfection. Happiness as a Challenge to Ethics] »Happiness« is not one of the central themes of Protestant ethics, but it is one of the favorite topics of the Leipzig systematic theologian Rochus Leonhardt. Leonhardt, to whom this publication is dedicated, has set himself the task of developing a Protestant position on the subject of »happiness« and profiling it in discussion with classics such as Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, Luther and Kant. What kind of potential and which challenges does the multifaceted concept of happiness pose for ethics? What is the specific nature of a Protestant theology of happiness? And what special requirements does an ethics of happiness have in the present? These questions are explored in the contributions to this publication.
