Summary

Racism, antisemitism, and antigypsyism are often studied in isolation from one another. The authors of this edited volume frame these various forms of resentment as mechanisms of domination in capitalist societies, thereby highlighting both the potential of a shared materialist analysis and the conflicts between the individual approaches. They argue that the causes of these conflicts lie in differing understandings of what constitutes domination in capitalism and how the respective forms of resentment are linked to domination. In their diversity, the ten contributions provide a new foundation for an integrated theoretical framework on insecure minority positions.
