Zusammenfassung

Zwanzig wissenschaftlich fundierte, pointierte Stellungnahmen zu den Herausforderungen, denen sich Europa in diesen Jahren ausgesetzt sieht, vorgelegt von Autoren aus diversen europäischen Ländern und aus unterschiedlichen Fachbereichen – das ist das jährliche Programm der zweimal monatlich online publizierten Policy Papers des Centre international de formation européenne (CIFE).

Aktuelle Themen wie der Kampf der EU gegen die Finanz-, Wirtschafts- und Staatsschuldenkrise, die Ukraine-Krise oder die Perspektive eines „Brexits“ (des Austritts Großbritanniens aus der EU) werden erläutert und kommentiert, in einer für nicht fachlich spezialisierte Leser verständlichen Form, jedoch ohne verzerrende Vereinfachung. Vier Kapitel erlauben eine bessere Orientierung in der Fülle der Aspekte: Die Papiere behandeln (1) EU-interne Politiken und Systemveränderungen, (2) geben Einblick in ausgewählte Mitgliedstaaten und ihre spezifischen Probleme, (3) betreffen Außenbeziehungen der EU zu Nachbarregionen und im globalen Maßstab und (4) behandeln Probleme der Internationalen Beziehungen insgesamt.

Die Policy Papers des ersten Jahres dieser Reihe liegen hier in Buchform vor und ermöglichen es jedem Leser, Ein- und Überblick über die komplexen Probleme und Lösungsansätze europäischer Politik in globalem Zusammenhang zu gewinnen.
